Basement is a platform, not a single feature. It ships as six primitives that compose on top of any URL:

- **Annotations.** Highlight any phrase on any webpage and attach a note, source, flag, or price check. Visible to everyone else running Basement.
- **Rooms.** Every URL is a live room. Open a page and you're with everyone else reading the same thing. Chat, reactions, presence.
- **Baselings.** One AI teammate per page. Summarizes, fact-checks, tracks stock, answers in the room. @mention yours any time.
- **The Score.** A live 0-to-100 confidence score on product pages. Cross-checks stock across eight retailers, weighs signal from the room, flags fakes.
- **The Wallet.** A portable reputation. Your annotations, accurate calls, and cited sources become a credential that follows you across every site.
- **Floors.** Your level in Basement. Good annotations earn signal. Accurate calls level you up. Bad-faith notes cost you.

2. Open any webpage.
3. You're in a room with everyone else on that exact URL. Any highlight anyone has added is visible. Your Baseling is a @mention away.
4. Chat, react, annotate, ask in real time.
5. Close the tab. Your room, notes, and contribution history persist. The next person on that URL picks up where you left off.

## What Basement does not do

- Basement does not read the content of the pages you visit automatically. Highlights and annotations are opt-in by the person making them.
- Basement does not touch carts, checkout, form inputs, or private data.
- Basement is not a bot, auto-checkout, or scraping tool.
- Basement does not replace Discord, Slack, or iMessage. It adds a presence + annotation layer on top of the web.
